Tae Kwon Do is a system of training both the mind and body in which great emphasis is placed on the development of the trainee’s moral character.

The word “Tae Kwon Do” itself means:
 Tae……to kick or smash with the feet
 Kwon….destroying with the hand or fist
 Do…….way or method

A brief history of Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do is the name of a martial art which has been independently developed in Korea over the past 2000 years.  All of Tae Kwon Do’s activities are based on a defensive spirit since Tae Kwon Do was originally developed as a defense against enemy attack in the old days.
