Tournaments

30^th Annual Fort Worth International Taekwondo Championship at the Fort Worth Convention Center was held on October 9, 2010. LMRA Taekwondo student, Emily Gaines, competed in both forms and sparring competition. She had nobody to compete with in Yellow Belt sparring so she stepped up and competed in the Green Belt division. She won a Gold Medal in forms and a Silver Medal in sparring competition. I was very proud of her efforts.

On February 4, 2006, the West Texas Taekwondo Championships were held in Snyder, Texas.  The following LMRA Taekwondo students earned medals at this tournament. Nic Berger won a Bronze Medal in (14-16 yr old boys) Black Belt Sparring and a Bronze Medal in Black Belt Forms. Kaitlyn Baugus won a Bronze Medal in (14-16 yr old girls) Black Belt Sparring and a Silver medal in Black Belt Forms. Ty Baugus won a Bronze Medal in Green Belt Forms and a Silver Medal in 13 year old Boys Sparring. Matthew Baugus won a Bronze Medal in 11 year old Boys Green Belt Sparring.

Grandmaster Won Chik Park held his 25th Annual Fort Worth International Taekwondo Championship Tournament at the Fort Worth Convention Center on October 15 and 16, 2005.  Over 900 participants competed in this tournament.  The following LMRA Taekwondo students competed in the tournament and brought home medals. Francisco Vereda won a Gold Medal in 6 & 7 year old, Boys, Yellow Belt sparring and a Bronze Medal in Forms competition. Ty Baugus won a Silver Medal in Boys, 12 to 13 year old, Yellow Belt sparring. Clyde Johns won a Bronze Medal in mens Blue Belt sparring.

On June 18, 2005, Grandmaster Park his annual Summer Tournament for Won Park students and all branch school students only. The tournament was held at the Won Park Institute, in west Fort Worth. The following LMRA Taekwondo students competed in this tournament and should be congratulated for their efforts. Nick Berger earned a First Place in 15 and up, Black Belt Sparring. Kaitlyn Baugus earned a Second Place in 15 and up, Black Belt Forms and a Second Place in 15 and up, Black Belt Sparring. Matthew Baugus earned a First Place in 11 year old, Yellow Belt Forms and a Second Place in 11 year old, Yellow Belt Sparring. Ty Baugus earned a Third Place in 11 year old, Yellow Belt Forms and a First Place in 11 year old, Yellow Belt Sparring.

Andrew Robinson won a Gold Medal in Blue Belt Sparring. Will Kolar won a Bronze Medal in Blue Belt Forms. Thomas Carlson won a Gold Medal in Yellow Belt Sparring and a Gold Medal in Yellow Belt Forms.

Grandmaster Won Chik Park held his 24th Annual Fort Worth International Taekwondo Championship Tournament at the Fort Worth Convention Center on October 23 and 24, 2004.  Over 1100 participants competed in this tournament.  The following LMRA Taekwondo students competed in the tournament and brought home medals.  Thomas Carlson won a Bronze Medal in Forms and a Bronze Medal in Boys (14-15 yr old) Yellow Belt Sparring.  Will Kolar won a Bronze Medal in Forms and a Bronze Medal in Boys (14-15 yr old) Blue Belt Sparring.

Grandmaster Won Chik Park held his 23rd Annual Fort Worth International Taekwondo Championship Tournament at the Fort Worth Convention Center on October 18 and 19, 2003.  Over 1150 participants competed in this tournament.  The following LMRA Taekwondo students competed in the tournament and brought home medals.  Austin Baugus won a Gold medal in Forms and a Gold Medal in Sparring.  Kaitlyn Baugus won a Silver medal in Forms and a Bronze Medal in Sparring.  Carla Kersey won a Bronze Medal in Forms and a Bronze Medal in Sparring.  Will Kolar won a Bronze Medal in Forms and a Bronze Medal in Sparring.

   The Annual FMT Taekwondo Tournament was held in North Richland Hills on June 14, 2003.  Greg Rouse won a Gold medal in forms and a Silver medal in sparring.

   On February 1, 2003, the West Texas Taekwondo tournament was held in Snyder, Texas.  The following LMRA Taekwondo students participated in the tournament. Congratulations to them all.
Lito Antaran, Blue Belt, won a SILVER medal in forms and a GOLD Medal in sparring.

    On October 19 and 20, 2002, GrandmasterPark held his 22nd Annual Fort Worth International Tournament at the Fort WorthConvention Center.  Over 1200 competitors participated.  The following LMRA Taekwondo students participated in the tournament. Congratulations to them all.

    On June 22, 2002, GrandmasterWonChikPark held his annual school tournament for main school and branch school students only. The following LMRA Taekwondo students competed in the tournament.  Justin Rojas won 3rd place in forms and 2nd place in sparring.  Brian Tams won 2nd place in forms and 2nd place in sparring.  Andrew Sink won 3rd place in sparring.  Gregory Rouse won 1st place in forms and 2nd place in sparring.

    The Annual FMT Taekwondo Tournament was held in the Lockheed Martin Recreation Area, Sports and Fitness Center on March 30, 2002.  Over 430 competitors attended this tournament.  The following LMRA students won medals in this competition.  Austin Baugus won a Gold Medal in sparring and a Bronze Medal in Forms.  Carla Kersey won a Gold Medal in Forms and a Silver Medal in Sparring.  Kaitlyn Baugus won a Gold Medal in Sparring.  Brian Tams won Silver Medal in Forms.  Andrew Sink won a Silver Medal in Sparring and a Bronze Medal in Forms.  Gregory Rouse won Gold Medals in Sparring and Forms.  John Sempeles won a Bronze Medal in Black Belt Sparring.

    The US Open Taekwondo Championship was held in OrlandoFlorida from February 21 to 24.  Won Park Institute students, Shade Weygandt and Adrian Gonzales competed and won medals at this competition.  Shade Weygandt won a Gold Medal in the 11-13 year old sparring division.  Adrian Gonzales won a Silver Medal in Senior Forms competition, a Gold Medal in 14-17 year old forms and another Gold Medal in 14-17 year old sparring competition.

On October 20 and 21, 2001, GrandmasterPark held his 21st Annual Fort Worth International Tournament at the Fort WorthConvention Center.  Over 1200 competitors participated.  The following LMRA Taekwondo students participated in the tournament. Congratulations to them all.

On July 28, 2001,GrandmasterWonChikPark held his annual school tournament for main school and branch school students only. The following LMRA Taekwondo students competed in the tournament.  Brian Tams wonThird place in sparring and Second place in forms and Andrew Sink won Firstplace in forms and Third place in sparring.

Students from the Won Park Institute traveled to Tampa, Florida tocompete in the U.S. Junior Nationals Taekwondo Tournament in July. These athletes must have placed first, second or third in the respectiveGyoroogi (sparring) age & weight division or first, second or thirdin the Poomse (forms)division, in the 2001 U.S. Taekwondo Union sanctionedTexas State Championshipunder which they are a USTU competitor memberin order to qualify for Nationals.  They must also be under 18 yearsof age.  Almost 4800 competitors from all over the country participatedin this event.  The following is alist of Won Park Institute studentswho won medals in the competition.

On March 24, 2001, the Foundation Masters of Taekwondo Tournamentwas held at The Lockheed Martin Recreation Area Sports and FitnessCenter.  Over 400 competitors participated in this event.  LMRA Taekwondo students, Andrew Crummey and Brian Tams won Bronze Medals in sparring.

On October 21, 2000,GrandmasterPark held his 20th Annual Fort Worth International Tournament at the Fort WorthConvention Center.  Over1200 competitors participated with over 300 coming up from Mexico. The following LMRA Taekwondo students participated in the tournament. Congratulations to them all.
